From: ?????????????????? (Ernie Sanchez) Subject: posting from pipes page Just a note to let you know how much I enjoy the digest and the information provided for the neophyte smoker. Like many others I was a cigar smoker who found that a pipe was more enjoyable and not as "trendy as cigars. I think we all owe Dr. Grabow our thanks for providing us with many new friends. I recently acquired a Savinelli pipe at a local antique store for a few dollars, and being new to this pleasurable hobby, was hoping someone out there could give me some information on it. It is a well smoked dark briar pot bowl style of pipe with a rough, twisted grain surface. it has a saddle stem, round shank and a wedge bit. On the bottom is stamped the Savinelli name, a small shield with an "s" in the middle, the number 4014, and the country og origin. If anyone has any information on this style of pipe please post it in the digest or email me directly. Many thanks, Ernie Sanchez ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U
