Hello Steve and group;
As I sit smoking a pipeful of Levin Sophisticate(I can because I ordered a
a handful of tins from Bob Hamlin to replentish my short supply)I was
wondering what is going to become of Neil Murray's A&M Gazette.personally
speaking,I enjoyed the heck out of it.I especially enjoyed the pipe related
fiction, wonderful writing IMHO.I don't know how many of this group
subscribed to A&M but I know Neil is on this list himself. If more
subscriptions are needed to continue that fine literary work,I would
encourage those of this group who don't suscribe aready to enquire about
doing just that.I don't have Neil's e-mail adress handy but I'm sure its in
the guide for this group.
Speaking of fine tobcco as I was,I'm also sampling a tin I picked up at
the last NASPC swap(formerly The Ohio Pipe Collectors)I'm speaking about
the limited edition blend done by McClelland for the event. A medium body
english called "Two Rivers".I would be curious to hear any comments on this
blend anyone may have.As for me,I really prefer a good, stoved Virginia or
a Virginia and Perique mixture or if I'm going to enjoy latakia,I lean
toward "Bombay Court" or Butera's "Blended Flake"(that is,of course,unless
someone wants to part with some Craven's "A"(Arcadia). This "Two Rivers"
seems to me anyway,to be too young yet.I'm going to keep the remaining tins
I have for afew more years and see if the flavors mellow and "marry" a bit.
Anyway,I'm just worried that the hobby is going to lose a fine
publication if The A&M Gazette is gone.Hope it aint so.
                 Mike Stanley

[ Don't know what's up, but Neil's usually very busy with professional
activities, and may not have had time to put out a new A&M recently.
Neil, care to comment? -S. ]
