From: ??????????????? (Matthew W. Sidner) Subject: A few questions Fellow Pipe Smokers/Lovers, I have been a subscriber to the Pipe Digest for some short time now, and up until now have had little or no time to post. Anyway, I am a 20yr old pipe smoker (only been smoking pipes for 2 years now), and have taken a great interest in all of the valuable information provided by the Pipe Digest and WWW.PIPES.ORG! I have a meerschaum (sp?) that was my very first pipe. Not too long ago, during the heat spell here in Ohio, the stem bent. Well, being the "I can fix it" that I am, tried to rebend the stem (it was still hot). During my abuse, the lucite stem split along the right side in the bend. It is a truly cheap pipe, but it is my very first, and I occasionally find the time to smoke it. Does anyone know of a repair person who could fix something like this, without breaking the bank? Ok, on to more about me. My current tobacco blend is Black Captain (BCA), yea, from reading this digest I know that I've just become a target, and my current mainstay of pipes is Peterson. I do own one Dunhill, which is a very good pipe, but wouldn't buy another if my life depended on it. The remainder of my collection are a few Savinelli's and an Ardor. Fortunately, my wife has no problems with my pipe smoking. Prior to meeting her I was almost always a cigarette man, but then started smoking the pipe more often. After some time, probably a month or so, we both found a blend that both of us could stand. We got married two months ago (April 24) and she got me two pipes for our wedding (we decided to exchange vows and gifts :) )! She got me an Aldo Velani Trio and a Dunhill Grp 4 Shell. The Aldo Velani (and also my Peterson evening pipe) are in our wedding photos on my website. (www.geocities.com/paris/rue/8291) If any of you would care to stop in and take a look, please sign our guestbook and wish us the best in marraige. Please keep the guestbook enties clean, she would be awful upset with me (not to mention I told her what a good group of people pipe smokers are). And by the way, does anyone know of a Saseini web site? Thanks for all the assistance, Matthew W. Sidner [I'll have a look at the site when I bring PPP up again. Best of luck in your new life, Matthew; sounds like you both chose well! :-) -S. ] ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U
