Our only local tobacconist recently closed his doors after being in
business for over 25 years.  The anti-smoking environment in Abilene,
Texas and the oil bust finally took its toll.  I was fortunate to buy
all of his pipe making equipment and supplies.  These supplies
included hundreds of vulcanite stems of every size and style one might
need.  The vast majority of these are still in stamped and numbered
bags as they were shipped by J. H. Lowe, Co.  Though I plan to spend
an increased amount of time making pipes as a hobby, I do not have a
need for this many stems.  I am willing to part with them for a very
