Hello eveyone!

This is the first time I have written to the digest.  I am a student
at the University of Kentucky and have been smoking a pipe for two
years now.  A good friend gave me my first pipe and now I have sixteen
pipes from various brands and smoke a variety of tobaccos.

I recently was given a pipe by my ex-roomates father who saw my
collection but no longer smokes.  It is a beautiful freehand sitting
in a large "hunk" of briar with a briar tamp.  It had perfectly
straight grain.  The only thing I could complain about was a very
slight discoloration from sitting in the stand and the oxidation on
the stem.  The brand is Wendhall.  I can't think of the style name
right now (I'm in the library-not studying!) but below that are the
letters FS.  If anyone has any information about this brand or maker I
would greatly appreciate it.  Happy Smoking,
