Hello all! Does anybody have problems smoking a calabash? I find that
shreds of burning tobacco tend to fall into the inner chamber (i.e., into
the actual gourd, which has a coating of some sort of resinous
reinforcement) and that the resulting smell of burning rubber entirely
ruins the smoke. Do other calabash smokers have this problem, and if so,
does anybody know how to rectify the problem?

[Perhaps someone's widened the smoke hole in the meerschaum cup?  I've
never had this problem, at least not to any significant extent. -S.]

In the last Pipes Digest (#257) there was a posting from a guy who was
looking for pipe furniture, such as pipe racks, curios, stands, and the like.
Since I misplaced my printed copy of PD #257, I don't have his e-mail 
address to respond to him directly. So I figured I'd make a posting on his 
behalf and hope he reads it. I came across the web site of E.J. Kutter 
at http://www.ejkutter.com. The specific page for pipes, Pipe Tobacco and 
Smoking Accessories is http://www.ejkutter.com/pipes/links.cgi.

E.J. Kutter offers a very nice selection of pipe racks (6,12,24 and 36) in
both Cherry and Walnut. They also offer ashtrays (both table and floor 
models), tobacco jars, pipe carriers, tobacco pouches, lights and more. I 
don't have any personal or business connections to E.J. Kutter, but was
very impressed with the selection of pipe furniture and related accessories.
I have have spent countless hours "surfing" the web searching for pipe 
related sites and have not found a better selection of these kinds of 
accessories. Well worth the look!
