Subject: posting from pipes page

This is my first post for a while; the pressures of college have not
passed me by. I have a question about a Sasieni Four Dot that I just
purchased. It had apparently been sitting in the local tobacconist's
rack for a while, since the stem was slightly discolored. I bought it,
and found it to be an excellent smoke. To try to find out how old it
was, I used the digest keyword search, and discovered in a very
thorough post that according to the nomenclature, it was
post-transition (post-1986). However, while the stamped nomenclature
uses the roman numeral 4 and does not say "London Made," (in fact, the
vulcanite stem is stamped "France") the box spells out the four and
does say "London Made." I would assume that a change in pipe stamping
would be normally accompanied by a similar change in box print. The
tobacconist could not have accidentally got the wrong box, since we
made sure it had the right shape number. Could this be a late
transition pipe? The quality is wonderful, with no fills, and I
consider it to be the best-smoking pipe in my collection. If the
author (whose name, despite having looked at the post less than ten
minutes ago, I do not recall) could shed some light on this, I would
be much obliged. Also, does anyone know what, if anything, Peterson's
University Flake is flavored with? There is a strong fruity smell in
the tin which, mercifully for my puritan, virginia-and-
latakia-accustomed tastebuds (the only puritan part of me,) is much
less evident when smoking. It's vaguely reminiscent of the smell of
the dreaded Erinmore, though a bit lighter.
