Steve,

Many thanks for the excellent work that you do in "Pipes Digest".  Even as
a pipe-smoker of some thirty years standing, I still learn a lot from it.

I would like to tap into the collective knowledege of the readership of
"Pipes Diges".  At the recent C.O.R.P.S. pipe show in Richmond I bought two
nice tapered bulldogs, unsmoked.  The shank has "HIGHLAND" stamped on one
side and "MADE IN ENGLAND" stamped on the other.  The stem is stamped with
a white "H".  Two knowledgeable people gave me two different guesses as to
the manufacturer and likely time period of manufacture.  I'm wondering if
anyone out there among the readers of "Pipes Digest" might have more
definitive information.  Thanks very much.
