From: "Scott A. Steiner" <?????????????????????????> Subject: Re: Pipes Digest #257 -- November 16, 1998 Greetings everyone, from a cold and wet San Francisco. I haven't written in a while, but my question is this: Assuming that one keeps one's tobacco sealed for, say a year, and that bag of tobacco, say a pound of it, is concealed in a box and not opened, does that tobacco retain its good quality. I only ask because I only just realized that I had a bag of tobacco I'd ordered some time ago. Curious, I filled a bowl and to my surprise, it smoked long, mild, and fresh. The tobacco had also retained its springy, relatively moist texture. Thanks for any answer. Scott ???????????????? [If it's well sealed and was properly humidified when you sealed it, it should keep indefinitely. Unfortunately, the vacuum seals on tins don't seem to re-seal very well. -S.] ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U
