   I would like to share this experience with everyone. I know that often
times customer service seems to be a thing of the past. The customer is
seldom the one that is "always right" and we always seem to be shaken and
taken by the buying experience. It also seems to me that in the midst of
all of this it still rings true that pipe smokers and tobacconists seem to
be some of the most honest people anywhere!

   My wife went to the tobacco shop that I frequent, The Briary in
Birmingham Alabama. She was in search of a pipe for me that was a suprise
and I actually had no idea or hint of her intentions. upon her arrival she
met with john the person who sold me my first pipe and every pipe
thereafter. John could have talked my wife into buying just about any pipe
in the shop, but, he used sound judgement and helped her in picking out the
exact Peterson that he and I had discussed a few weeks prior. Just another
way that pipe smokers, which of coursese he is, and tobacconists continue
to amaze me by standing head and shoulders above the rest of the sales type
people.

   I dont wish to be a commercial for the Briary because it's not about the
shop it's about the people that work there and their dedication to the pipe
smoking community. Having only been a pipe smoker for a short while I
already feel "at home". With Pipes Digest, ASP and pipes.org you cant help
