From: ??????????????????????????? Subject: posting from pipes page Dear Steve and Folks: I have been carving on a block of briar off and on for about 6 months now, and have managed to make more mistakes on this pipe than any other pipe I have ever cut. While my maritime relief imiages are coming out wonderfully, it seems that I have puched holes in both the bowl and stem. I assume that this pipe is no longer smokable, but in case I am wrong, is there any one out there with any suggestions? Is there something I can shove in the bowl that is not toxic and will not burn that will patch this nasty (large) hole? It is about 1/4 inch diamiter. with the exception of these two mistakes, this is by far the most beautiful pipe I have carved yet. If it can not be fixed I will just continue using it as an experimental carving surface. I think we could all use an experimental carving surface in this life any way. Mike H.
