Subject: NASPC Update

Dear Steve,
I haven't written in quite a while to update you and your thousands
of readers on the status of the North American Society of Pipe
Collectors (NASPC). We had another successful pipe show in Columbus at
the end of Aug. (sold out at 93 tables, and the room was packed all day
long). In fact, we're 11 tables away from a sellout for next year's
show on Aug. 26, 2000. We have passed the 700-member mark and are
closing in on 750. We still have one newsletter to go of the 5
scheduled for 1999 (these are professionally printed and big), and I
have scheduled 6 issues for next year. We have scheduled a members-only
swap for Feb. 27 here in Columbus for those in the Central Ohio area or
who can make the trip. In the middle of Feb., we will be holding a
raffle from among all current member in which we will give away 6 pipes
(including the J. T. Cooke Pipes & Tobaccos special pipe) and a
Ming-Kahuna tamp.
Hard to believe all this is still only $12 a year membership. I
invite everyone to check out our web site at www.naspc.org to find out
about NASPC, read some articles from past issues, and look at pictures
of the pipes we'll be giving away, plus a picture of the Steve Weiner
NASPC 2000 pipe, which is available only to members. Or just send in
your dues ($12 for 2000, $13 to start in 1999 and get the last
newsletter, which promises to be the biggest one yet). I don't think
anyone who does so will be disappointed.

[Excellent, Bill! Always good to hear from you and NASPC. -S.]
