From: ???????????????? Subject: posting from pipes page Hi Steve, First off I would like to thank you for this great medium to communicate with other pipe smokers. It is so nice to be able to share thoughts and to learn from others knowledge. I was hoping to make an inquiry to the entire group about a pipe I purchased recently. The pipe was manufactured by Kaufman Brothers & Bondy around (according to Kaywoodie) the turn of the century. It is an antique calabash featuring a genuine calabash gourd, and has a black meerschaum bowl. According to the guy I talked to over at S.M. Frank & Co., the meerschaum is genuinely black, as opposed to black from many years of use. The stem is made (I believe) of Bakelite, and the threads are made of bone. It has a silver band around the stem with a cloverleaf and the initials KB&B engraved into it. Any information that anyone could give me on this pipe would be greatly appreciated, as no one seems to be able to provide me with any. Regards, Dave ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U ~\U
